Located in the center of Korea, Daejeon is one of the largest cities. It is a major junction for train lines and expressways. Daejeon is a city of science and education with Daedeok Science Town and Daejeon Expo Park. Yuseong Hot Springs Resort and Daecheong Dam are the popular tourist attractions.

Characteristics - Daejeon has a pivotal function as the second administrative capital of Korea. It is Korea’s hub of national defense and is an international and innovative city with a high priority on science and technology. Daejeon has 5 autonomous Gus and 80 Dongs of administrative districts in 540 km2 (Approximately 0.54% of Korea)

Location - Daejeon, located in the center of Korea, is a major transportation hub. Highways, expressway, and major railways converge here, including the Gyongbu Railroad and the Honam Railroad.

Climate - Daejeon is located in an inland area. In summer, the climate is hot humid due to air currents from the North Pacific. In winter, it is cold and fry because of air currents from Siberia.

The brand ‘It’s Daejeon’ has been developed to build the image of Daejeon City as the center of the culture, economy and science and to enhance the recognition of Daejeon through the differentiation against the competitive cities in the city management strategy for the 21st century that is the age of image competition and intercity competition beyond competition among countries.
